Our Creator Suffers from a pretty extreme case of Seborrheic Dermatitis.

What is Seborrheic Dermatitis or SD?

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, Seborrheic Dermatitis is a Skin condition that causes a scaly rash to form on oily areas of skin, often located on the scalp, ears, corves of the nose/ mouth, and areas of facial hair. Seborrheic Dermatitis can also appear on the neck and chest area and while the areas are usually oily, the rash can become extremely dry or more oily, causing extreme itching, which can lead to over-scratching that cuts the skin open, or the skin becoming so dry it cracks from lack of moisture, further leading to the risk of infection.

The cause of SD while not unknown has not been pinpointed to any particular cause, but the most likely causes have been identified such as stress, genetics, pre-existing conditions- compromised immune systems, overactive immune systems, topical products, and so forth.

Make

As Katarah grew up she noticed certain things about her dermatitis worsened when she used certain products, like shampoo, soap, lotion, body scrubs, and bubble baths. Soap in particular though, often caused Her Dermatitis to flare up. red inflamed patches lined her hairline, raw welts marred the sides of her nostrils, and the areas around her ears looked like gray dragon skin from the intense dryness and flaking. Dealing with bullies in school and the looks she constantly had to deal with when out in the public from not only her peers but the adults around her, she started looking for a solution.

First, Katarah discovered the power of natural ingredients like clays, essential oils, and fruit skins and she started blending them with her favorite oils and butters, such as shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oils, argan oils, etc. She realized that after applying her combined ingredients to her own skin her flare-ups became less intense, the itching lessened and in turn, she had fewer scars, less inflammation, and fewer patches appearing over time the more she used her oil and butter blend handmade products.

These products DID NOT get rid of her dermatitis but it does drastically help with the appearance of her skin, for a few days at a time without the harsh side effects of immune-compromising medication, and she realized that she could now be more comfortable in the appearance of her own skin, which was now more clear, less inflamed, less flaky and scaley.

and Finally

After years of making her own skin and hair products, friends and family convince Katarah that she had a product that was worth selling. It was A LOT of convincing though, she was afraid of the amount of work, her lack of understanding, and her ability to market. Which hindered her for quite a while until one day in 2018 she finally said “Let’s do it!” and registered her inactive business. In 2019, she finally began to become more active but was stifled by the 2019 Covid-19 virus Outbreak, being an outgoing person with a strong preference for in-person selling Katarah struggled with only having an online presence and put a pause on her business. Now, She has finally figured things out and has decided to put her best foot forward in sharing her love for her products and the natural benefits their ingredients have provided to herself and in the future will provide all of you!
